over organization can also be a problem

so im into my second week of College.  I had my first lesson on the bounciest western horse in the barn and all i can say besides him being a sweetheart is that my inner thigh muscles are still in agony.

Over Organization can be a problem.  Right now the only reason im typing this blog is because i have nothing better to do.  Ive done most of my homework and i have a two hour break before my next class which i think is this equivalent of a basic high school English class but its required so ill stop ranting.

I also found that because i am trying out for the western team all members on equestrian team must volunteer once a week at the therapeutic horse barn.  So i was kinda shoved into the training class which wasn't to big of a deal since i worked a summer at High Hopes Therapeutic Equine Center in Old Lyme, Ct and learned all this stuff when i volunteered there.  But anyways my schedule has gotten very busy.

On top of volunteering at the TH barn and my lessons twice a week i got a work study job in the PE department as a assistant to the Physical Therapist as well as working at men's soccer games on the weekends(trainer said they are more likely to get injured)  OS now im discovering all those years of sore muscles and how to stretch properly to help with strains and aches will pay off... plus im CPR and FIrst Aid Trained.

So now my weekends and days are pretty much packed maybe I won't fell like i have nothing to do.

The Trials and Tribulations of College

Last Sunday a girl had a break down.  All the freshman had been away from our parents for one night.  This one girl in the suite next to me had a break down.  Her roommate told us she was crying all night and the next morning left with all her clothes without saying anything.  On monday the RD came up and said that the girl was not coming back and that a new roommate would be assigned.  Talk about not being independent.

I haven't started riding yet.  We get our lesson schedules on friday and lessons start on monday.  I am going slightly insane since this is the longest ive gone in a long time without seeing a horse on a daily basis. I have this urge deep within me to see a horse.

We had a barn orientation last saturday and we were shown how to polo wrap a horse.  Though i already knew how to do this i did it any ways and after i was done started giving the horse "woody" a face massage.  He was so content that when i tried going off to do something else he got mad, and shook his head saying more, more.  That horse was in horsey heaven.

Im sure once i start going to the barn on a regular basis just driving past 130 horses on the way to my lesson will kill any tenseness im having right now.  My biggest worry is that because i have been riding on a regular basis for so long that my legs will be sore which hasn't happened to me in years.

oh well..... I love college.

A new beginning

Tomorrow starts and epic adventure. A new beginning, a new start.... Tomorrow i leave for college.

Over the past few weeks i have been getting mixed feelings about what to expect.  Though i am very excited i feel that there is a part of me that is scared.  Here i am leaving home for a long period of time.  I will be able to make my own decisions with out the watchful eye soaring over you.

I will definitely have a rough first few weeks and i no ill miss my horses but i am excited for my new beginning.  Ive been told many times that college is what you make of it.  Most people who hated college didn't get involved in campus activities and secluded themselves to their dorms.  The goal is to become involved in something.   My college is in a very rural area so staying involved is key.  Ive been told the student activities union does a very good job providing students with things to do.

I leave tomorrow and embark on a 12 hour trek to NC.....

Pet Peeves

Today while getting coffee i discovered a pet peeve of mine.  Often times people will use sounds to show there discomfort or pleasure.  a deep breath can be a sign of relaxation, etc...  When i went to get my coffee you have to walk up to the station and pour it yourself. To do this you must walk through a line to get the register.  When i approached the station there was a few people i had to walk between and one man was on the end of the station.  From the looks of it he had already gotten his coffee because he was pouring sugar into his cup.

So i went to pour my coffee and the man next to my,  the one putting sugar in his cup, starting clearing his throat.  I try to ignore these subtle signs of impatience and would prefer if they just spoke up and said, " excuse me but  i was here first."    I would think that is not as rude as going,  " (clear throat),  angry stare, ( clear throat)."

From this incident i discovered that i have a pet peeve for people who subtly show their discomfort or pleasure.  If your gonna do it do it to my face!

Songs and movies

have you ever had a song or movie touch you so deeply that every time you see or here the song/movie you get this feeling in your stomach, kinda like "de ja vu"  but very touching.  Well that happened to me when i watched P.S I love you.  Now that is kinda a chick flick movie but after watching that movie and shedding many tears i felt so moved by it that i had to watch it again.  Just before writing this i found the P.S I love you soundtrack on itunes and started to cry.  I don't no what it is about that movie but i have this strange de ja vu.  maybe something similar to that will happen to me in the future.  Hopefully it wont be the death of my husband part but maybe the true love or the hills of Ireland.  I don't know but i felt like writing about my deep connection with this movie.  I swear i normally stop crying after seeing the movie once but ive probably seen this movie 5 times and i still cry.

2 weeks

Over the summer i have been asked many times if im excited or scared for college.  Hopefully you are excited i mean thats a given but scared, well that can go both ways.  I leave in 20 days for college.  I have begun packing and yes, i am excited.

Im excited to finally have my own independence.  To not have to be told to do this and that but to be able to do this and that on my own.  Im excited for the saturday night parties and the college sports team games.  i am also excited for the equestrian aspect.  Yes, i will study, yes i will go to class but i still want to have fun doing it.

I am scared because im going  into something im not familiar with.  Yes i will have independence but i won't have someone their looking over my shoulder to tell me what to do which is a good and bad thing.  I also realized that i had experienced my last NEw England winter my senior year of high school.  Since i will only be home for winter break and spring break i won' t be getting the full winter that im use to.

It is all scary and exciting at the same time.  WHat can i say im full of mixed emotions.

COLLEGE

college- an institution of higher learning, esp. one providing a general or liberal arts education rather than technical or professional training.
Urban Dictionary Definition(s)- 1. A magical place where it is rumored that learning takes place, although to those who enter it is often described differently afterward, as a beatiful land in which beer flows in amber currents next to a golden pasture, where virgins lie naked with gentle smiles upon their calm, inviting faces; but more precisely, a Shangri-La rite of passage into adulthood which involves rampant consumption of alcoholic beverages, flagrant and promiscuous sexual behavior, and a general and fundamental disregard for any form of responsibility by its habitants.
2. the place where you enter inexorbitant amounts of debt to "learn" things you will never apply once to your actual occupation. Basically, an expensive 4-year waiting period for a paper called "degree".
3. an expensive daycare center
4. a place to get drunk, have sex, and then start all over again. Oh by the way it's a place to get an edukacion...i mean edukation... shit education, there we go
5. An alternative to buying a Ferrari (they cost about the same).

So yesterday i discovered the trials and tribulations of shopping for college.  we bought a microwave and fridge but once home discovered that I didn't need a microwave becasue their was one in the common room.  Then the fridge was 3.9 Cu Ft and you only can have one 2.7 cu or less.  So after returning those appliances we got a 2.5 Cu fridge from best buy.  http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9215075&type=product&id=1218060230472

As we shopped at Target we discovered how much fun and stress was involved in shopping for college.  Accompanying me was my mom, who hates shopping in superstores; and my 22 year old sister who just graduated from college so was an expert in the field of college/ dorm shopping.

the one good thing about having a older sister who went through college is that she already bought most of the basic stuff you use for college.  Like lamps and fans.  She already owned a multi stemmed lamp and a large standing fan.   She also had a mini ironing board and some storage containers for clothes, etc.

The things i did miss were laundry detergent,  bath soap, shaving cream, and an umbrella.  I am buying most of my school supplies separately.  So tomorrow im going clothing shopping which is always fun.

Oh the trama

I woke yesterday to our goat Samson bleeding from his head and one of his horns hanging from its nerve ends.  I brought him to the barn and thought i could just pull it off.  Well a common fact in animals is that they don't show pain.  So when you go to grab the horn and Samson rears up and starts screaming with blood pouring down your face you kinda figure he is in huge amounts of pain.

So i called our regular vet who then gave me the number off a vet who specializes in goats.  She had two emergency calls before me so she didn't get out till 4.   So for the 6 hours that samson had to wait i gave him some bute and closed up the barn so that he could stay calm.  I didn't want to get him anxious because then his blood would be pumping and since the blood vessels in his horn where not seared he could loose more blood.

Once the vet got there we sedated him and she cleaned the area then seared his blood vessels which if you have ever been in a barn where a horse is getting hot shod take that smell and multiply it by five.  Then the vet chopped off half of his other horn and a reversal from the sedation.

When Samson began to wake up it was so funny because he looked like some guy who was high.  That dazed look and kinda look that says what the hell am i doing here?

Today i began to organize a list for stuff to get for college. I got a e-mail from housing that my roommate had been switched which was weird but it looks like it will work out.  We have alot in common, So i went to Target online and now i am wishlisting (is that a word) for college.  I estimate that i wont go over $300.  lets pray.

Rainy Days

Today was the most useless, pointless day i e had all summer.  It rained so i couldn't go riding.  Im kinda broke(saving for college so i put myself on a budget) so i couldn't go shopping.  So basically I woke up and surfed the web for a couple of hours.  I have become obsessed with the Wizards of Waverly Place and can't stop watching it.  After some relaxing hours of this i went downstairs and had some delicious Honey Nut Oatmeal.  Then came back upstairs and painted the background to my painting I'm working on. Photo in link: http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/3747375.jpg
I now hate making sunsets with acrylics once you lay the paint down and it dries its not like watercolors where you can put some water on it and mix the colors more.  When Acrylic dries you had better hope thats what you want it to looks like.  So now im discovering the joys of mixing to make orange and totally making it look like shit.  Oh well so far from what i can tell this will be one of my better pieces so lets hope i finish it before i leave for school.

All this painting is practice for my 2-d art class where i will have to paint realism 2-D paintings. I am a abstract person so realism is not any walk in the park.

After working on some paintings i went out to feed the horses which was uneventful.  Then came home ate some awesome Pizza bagels...delicious.  Now the most eventful thing i did today that needed brain power was helping my sister pick out heels and why her dress needed a stomach belt.  so thats my rainy day tomorrow i get to babysit from 8-5 with a 7 year old who is horse obsessed.  I hope to god it doesn't rain!

Its starting to kick in

Im starting to realize that this is it.  My last free summer.

Lily and Moonshine are over there respiratory problem so they have been mixed with Brady and may be put with the mini donkeys today.  Tequila is officely starting retirement.  I will have to try riding him when i come back for winter break in  December.  Lightning still is not doing well at barrels.  He does fine turning without them but then when we try to run the pattern he forgets what we had practiced. UGH!

I'm excited for college and i am so happy that i have a sister who already went because now i don't have to buy new linens and half the other dorm stuff you have to get when you go to college.  I got my rider placement time it August 20Th at 2:00PM!  oh excited!

Rider placement is to see what group to put you in for your lessons.  Im riding Western and i have a feeling i am Novice.  I have more experience than a novice its just that i haven't gotten any points in shows because i ride gaited horses.  To be at the highest level which is reining you have to be a qualifier for AQHA Worlds.

Ruby is doing amazing.  Im guessing that because she is so good she was sent to auction because of financial problems.  Someone was training her for reining because she can turn on a dime and do a sliding stop which i discovered quickly when working on her short stride canter.  She is a sweetheart though and since Tequila is retired we need another horse to pick up his workload.

I am typing to you via laptop

I am typing this on my new Macbook Pro! I got it yesterday in Providence at the mac store.  i also got a free 8G Ipod touch! i guess when you buy a macbook you get a touch.  There are so many features on the mac book its so cool.  Though my touch is a little The  more cool because you can add all these free apps I'm sure i will learn to love the pro once school starts.  After we got the laptop we went down to the Fire and Ice restaurant.  There are only 6 in the country and i totally wish there were more.  The restaurant is set up like a cafeteria.  what you do is grab a bowl then buffet style choose all the ingredients you want in your meal.  They have vegetables, fruits, and meats.  You also get to choose a sauce top top it.  It is about $14 for a all you can eat  special.  my first choice was a a hamburger with pineapple and Honey Garlic Sauce.  It was amazing.  then after scarfing that down i went up for seconds and got a bacon, sirloin, and beef cuts dish with baby cabbage and pineapple as well as rosemary basil potato's.  this was topped with Caribbean Jerk sauce which was excellent with the pineapple because it then had a sweet and spicy flavor to it.  So if you are ever in providence, or Boston find a fire and ice because you won't regret it!

Tomorrow i have work at the Mystic Shipyard where i work in the office.  I'm planning on bringing my laptop because supposedly  the whole place has WI-fi and the last few times I've been at work my boss has locked her computer.  I guess she thinks i am going to put some massive virus in her hardrive and ruin her computer.  hell i don't even no how to plant a virus let alone make one so locking her computer shouldn't;t be such a big problem but oh well.  Ill just bring my super awesome macbook pro and keep my self very entertained.

plus being payed very well to answer calls and help incoming transients out is very easy so i have alot of time on my hands and i need to write a 500-600 word essay and the book serena.  so i can do that tomorrow seeing as i read the book while at work in 1 1/2 days .  Well thats all for now school starts soon so I can look forward to that. plus im going with my sister and friends to see Kenny Chesney so that should be fun.

More rescues

so two weeks ago we rescued a haflinger X TWH mare. She is super sweet great and will be a awsome trail horse. Then my mother decides that we can take these two Donkeys that were in the kill pens about to go on there 24 hour trailer ride to mexico to end up on the plates of some french aristocrat over in Europe. These Donkeys are a Mare and Filly. The mom or Jennet can be seen in this video below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiTW2C2Bkfo

As you can see she is walking on her heels and the person who hauled her said she has severe laminitis. So the hauler said she would arrive at 9:00PM well 9:00PM turned into 1:00AM. So i pulled a all-nighter and we prepared to transfer the horses from the haulers trailer to ours becasue the moms laminitis was so bad she couldn't walk up our driveway.

The filly who was "Wild" was asleep when we went to transfer so we were able to get a halter on her. We then backed the trailers up to each other and our trailer has a swing out door so we were able to use that as a wall so the horses didn't run off. On the other side was our volunteers very nice all leather mazda convertible. So we transfered the donkeys. from one trailer to the other pretty eaisly.

We got them to the barn and settled and the mom who already had a name "Lily" and the baby which we didn't. Before we left i said isn't she precious so we thought "precious" would be a sutible name. The next day or should i say later that morning the vet came by. Before he got there though i went out and chatted with the volunteers and discovered that "precious" had relaxed. If you are a horse savvy person then relaxed means that in male horses they dropped there penis and had relaxed. Well this came as a shock seeing as Precious was suppose to be a girl. after dispute and feeling around it was definite that Precious was in fact a boy.

So the vet came and palpated Lily who was not pregnet luckily. Lily did have a fever of 104( normal is 99- to 100) he also diagnosed that she had a upper respitory virus which is why she was coughing. He then gave her a B12 shot and a antibiotic. we also have to dissolve her antibiotic and inject it into her mouth twice a day. now that was fun! the vet also said her lamanitis didn't seem to severe and that she was walking better. so now all we have to do is nurse her and her "colt" back to health.

on another note i got my roomate she is a sophomore transfer student. Also majoring in equine but in theraputic.

life is good on the kent farm. one rescue ata time.

Going to the Gym/ College

Going to the gym- Why do people go the the gym? Is it becasue they lack the ability to use the "great outdoors" as a resource? or is it becasue they like the fancy machines. I personally would rather excersize on my own. Running or biking down a lone country road is so much more appealing.
I am not a very social person so gping to the gym to socialize would be weird for me. Plus, the idea of socializing at a gym seems strange. I mean honestly you go to the gym in sweats to get sweaty, why in g-ds name would you want to talk to other people. My other reason for not going to the gym is that i am very self- concious. I would much rather bike down a road, alone, than run on a treadmill in a gym.

College- Why is it that when you plan to go to college all your parents expect you to do is study? I mean honestly any person between the ages of 16- and 30 no that the three most important things that happen in college are as follows. one, being the most important, beer/ parting. two, football/hockey(for the new england colleges). and three, class. I have a 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM class the a 4 and a 1/2 half break then another class. I am going to only be doing two things the majority of the time. Excersizing and sleeping...

becasue i will have been up all night studying of course.(thats for you mom)

June the 16th of 2009

Effulgence- The state of being bright and radiant; splendor; brilliance.

Ugh 4 hour trail rides sure put you out from writing blogs. Yesterday was a lazy summer day i awoke to a father telling me to do some chores becasue we have to clean the house for guest that will be staying for graduation. So i watched some Sex and the City then began to sweep and vacum the main floor. I was going to mop but i said i would do it the next day but then my dad decided to stay home today and work on the porch( its a walk out screen porch) and his stuff was trailing into the main floor so i couldn't.

But after sweeping and vacuming yesterday i got the sudden urge to horseback ride. kinda like a craving. Sometimes you have a huge craving for chocolate and you will stop at nothing until you find the right type of chocolate that suits your craving...oh shit now i want Lindnt. Ok that was off subject. Anyways i got a craving to ride. Plus i needed patrol hours for my Volunteer Patrol Unit so i grabbed Lightning my trust Energizer Battery of a horse and treked out to Bluff Point. It was a quit monday so i was able to stretch his legs out. Then i came home watched mroe sex and the City, ate some sausuge. felt bad about eating the sausage and excersized.

Today was a very lazy day. I went by the bank then, then over to the Christmas Tree Shop to get some $3 8/10 frames for some photos i took that are going into a silent Auction art benifit show, then watched WANTED which is fricken amazing! and then watched Appolossa which was like any old western flick. I then ate more sausage, some fruit( hey im trying to be healthy) and now im typing this and then taking a bath.

That was the longest run- on sentence of my life! but anyways my definition at the top has no real meaning until this Friday when i will be graduating!! so until tomorrow.......

Aver- 1. To affirm with confidence; to declare in a positive manner, as in confidence of asserting the truth.

2. (Law) To assert, claim, or declare as a fact.

I am avering that today i have come to relize that public school is officially over. It all started when i brought my dog to Bluff Point. I was sitting on the beach after Gus had drenched me in water when i had to chase after him when he ran off with the ball. I was sitting down trying to dry off my very wet jeans when i realized i had the last day of public school on friday. There was this weird realization that come this fall im not going back to school but off to college. And for me going off to college is liek going off to boarding school, literlly. Im not going to be one of those kids who can come home on her mini breaks or the weekends to see her folks. I will be a 12 hour drive away from home. So i am expecting the first two to three weeks of college will be terrible.
Today was rather dull. I woke up to rain meaning my 9 AM lesson i was giving was canceled. Then i went back to sleep. Woke up ate disgusting maple and brown sugar weight watchers oatmeal and yummy hot chocolate and then did nothing for the rest of the day except go to Bluff Point, oh and by gus a new toy. I think its called a Chuck It! its a long stick with a cup at the end that you place the ball in and it allows you to throw the ball further. Gus went 30-40Ft out with that toy.
Toaday i avered that in 2 months 4 days i will be starting down a new path.

june 3rd 2009

Redivivus - Living again; brought back to life; revived; restored.

I will soon be living in a form of redivivus when I attend college this fall. I will be revived from public school restraint. Be able to speak my mind without many reprocusions and feel restored becasue i am starting a new jorney.

Today was rather dull. I slept in late. woke to a mother telling me how it is my duty to clean horses pens when we have already agreed that the horses pens are cleaned by her and the barn is to be cleaned by me. Supposedly i don't do a good enough job at the barn. sigh, 2 months and 5 days till i don't have to deal with this shit.

Yesterday i went in for an interview at the Mysitc Marina. Its one of the larger marinas on the Mystic River. I was interviewed for a job as a weekend office assistant. Its basiclly liek runnign a hotel. People come in on there rigs (these are the people who live on there boats for the whole summer or the whole year) i check them in and take down there information, they pay for the night/s they are staying. I also make resorvations for people as well as sell ice and souviners to tourist coming. Basiclyy the easiest and most boring job there is but hell i get $10 and hour to work on the weekends from 9-4. Im not complaining, just give me a pile of sudokus and a book and ill be good for the day.

Another job i have aquired is babysitting. For this i am babysitting 1 1/2 days a week to a girl who is 9 i beleive. like any young girl she is horse crazy so a day on the farm being indulged in horse related activities seemed easy enough. For this i am to be payed $8 and hour for 8-9 hours. the 1/2 day part is me picking her up from camp and indulging her for an hour then giving her a formal hour lesson on horseback.

I also give lessons to other people and i figured if i save all the money from my weekend job i can then use it in college to buy neccesities without relying on my parents to provide. If my math is right i will have earned from my weekend job $960. This way i can have money for college and use the money from babysitting and lessons on stuff over the summer.

Now you may be speculating me right now but i can stretch money like no other.

The Times are uh changing (6/12/09)

Yes i have not written in a while. But i now believe it is human nature to be lazy if not motivated. And since i am doing this in my own free time without motivation I am bound to be lazy. Yesterday, was interesting i was awarded honor cords in science and English. honor cords are given when you achieve outstanding Academic excellence in a subject. I received honor cords in English and Science because i took 4 classes in each subject and got A's in three out of four.

I have taken 6 credits of science so i was bound to get one in there and you are required to take 4 English credits and since i am so good in English i was bound to get one. The funny thing is though that when i looked to see what i was getting i only saw my name under science. The people who designed the pamphlets forgot to put all the names receiving English cords in it so i had no idea that i was getting one in that.

Today was my last day of school. The last day of school for my past 11 years has been exciting and fun. we eat lots of food sign up for next years courses and live up the summer. When your a senior that all changes. Now I'm not the crying type but when i left school today i felt somewhat saddened. I have this feeling in my gut like i get right before i dive off the blocks at a swim meet. Now maybe i am diving into a new beginning but holy shit it is gonna be crazy! I won't write a senior reflection until after i walk for graduation next week. but for now.... DON'T FUCKING CRY!!!!

Long Time

So when you go to Vermont and stay at a motel that says it has WiFi but really doesn't it is very hard to write a blog. So on Friday i went up to Burlington Vermont to see my sister graduate from the University of Vermont. On Friday we went to a party at my sisters apartment. We had lots of beer and H'ourduorves. There were alot of people there which made there tiny apartment seem even smaller. But i learned that i suck at Wii tennis and bowling. So that was Friday.

Saturday we went out to this Mountain and hiked it. It was like something out of LOTR. You were walking through White Pine Forest between giant rock outcrops. Also a Raven tryed attacking us when we walked past its nest. After the hike we changed and went to my sisters friends Pig Roast but it was raining so we didn't get outside of the pavilion. Again lots of beer was drunk and lots of food eaten.

Sunday we prepared for the main graduation. We met at my sisters apartment and took some photos then walked to the green where UVM had there first main graduation outdoors in ten years. it was a little chilly but hey it is the Green Mountains! Howard Dean was the speaker for the main graduation. All in all the main graduation was good. Then after that my sister had her department graduation but we had a few hours to kill so we went and got lunch and i got an amazing chicken pesto on sour dough. Then we went to her department graduation which was in the gym. after almost passing out from the heat and then falling asleep from the very long speeches my sister finally got her diploma and we went back.

Monday we moved out my sisters apartment which was fun. then we drove the five and a half hours back to Ct. Today nothing has really happened just usual school. nothing out of the ordinary yet....

5/14/09

you have no idea how hard it is to write a blog at 9 at night. thats one reason why i don't do it. At 9 your not super tired but worn out from they day but not ready to sleep. At nine you either have a spliting headache or a half asleep brain. For the past two days its been my senoritis kicking in and my half asleep brain. if your wondering what senioritis is (there is a definition!)

Senioritis, from the word senior plus the suffix -itis (which refers to inflammation but in colloquial speech is assumed to mean an illness), is a colloquial term used in the United States to describe the decreased motivation toward studies displayed by students who are nearing the end of their high school or college careers.

But hey i just rotated today and that means i get to sleep in becasue i have first unnasigned! Hello Starbucks and Iced Coffees from Dunkin Donuts! So this week was pretty chill. on tuesday i got my tattoo! Its so Hot! as some people are putting it. haha. its something i think i won't regret in years to come. One because it is onmy shoulder and i don't have to stare at it every day and two it represents a part of who i am. The Horse is suppose to represent my first horse Mystique but the general symbolism of it is that Horses are a part of my life and always will be. So Tuesday i got that done, actully here's my video i made of it getting done thats below( you no what ill put it at the end) anyways the tatto wasn't that bad it was like a cat scratching you simultaniously. the thing that bugged me was that when she went to wipe away ink it irritated my already irritated skin. That was a bitch to sit still for. ok i guess il put the video below now. But on friday im going up to my sisters graduation and will be there till monday. which should be fun(shes graduating from college) hopefully Vermont is green!
i will add the video later i need to go to school now.

Then after the shows all the tech crew went over to a house and had cake and burned scripts. which was fun. I have it on my Vlog on youtube. so today was a typicall monday i did nothing. Happy Cinco De Mayo 5/5/09

Cinco De Mayo- (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a regional holiday in Mexico, primarily celebrated in the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico.[1][2] The holiday commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.[3][4] The outnumbered Mexicans defeated a much better-equipped French army that had not been defeated in almost 50 years.[5]

So today was a rainy day. and i also learneda new weather term a Derecho! A derecho (from Spanish: "derecho" meaning "straight") is a widespread and long-lived, violent convectively induced straight-line windstorm that is associated with a fast-moving band of severe thunderstorms in the form of a squall line usually taking the form of a bow echo. Derechos blow in the direction of movement of their associated storms, similar to a gust front, except that the wind is sustained and generally increases in strength behind the "gust" front. A warm weather phenomenon, derechos occur mostly in summer, especially June and July in the northern hemisphere. They can occur at any time of the year and occur as frequently at night as in the daylight hours.
So now on to todays highlights. I wake up at 6:20 AM look outside and go oh shit, Fuck. Rain of course(WHY I COULD SURVIVE IN IRELAND!!!) breath Ariel breath. ok ok then school which was more movies. i saw the rest of finding nemo and actully laughed. I finally figured out some dry humor from that movie. And the damn stupid kids who don't know who Darwin is but are in a Enviromental Science class were being stupid. seriously there IQ must be 50 there so imature and STUPId.
Then i had a succesful game of spit.
This one is fricken intense im not even this good. But after that i went to Jornalsim. Lets not talk about that. Becaue today was a fricken hysterical class especially in the end when i knew more than most every one else and was sitting in the back laughing while people got pissy. lol that was funny.
Then in sociology i almost broke the projector and watched Shawshank Redemption. Then at drama rehersal i discovered that none of the wireless were working. i fixed the overhead feedback and got to learn more dirty things about the gross freshman techys and see them get kicked out of the booth forever. hint hint. yeah guess what they were doing with the lights off.. EWWWWWWWWWWW!
so yeah now im home i fed horses re=penned escaped goats(they can jump the fence) and am now typing away at this blog... then taking a bath. I will remeber tommorow. I think!

Keeps on forgetting 5/4/09

I have a legitimate reason. NOTHING happened last week. seriously that was the laziest week ever. i did hopefully do well on an environmental science test that i felt i did well on. but yeah that was my whole week.

So for this week i went to Forever 21 and got some awesome tops. then helped my friend get a prom dress which is awesome. Then i discovered the whole tech crew quit for drama and I'm backup so lucky me i get to run lighting and sound. ugh! well at least ill get some exercise. Today i got to read my script, take notes and turn spots on and off. WhoppY tomorrow for mucho stress! oh and since i don't really do sound i couldn't control feedback and fucked my self over. but didn't break any thing. thank god!

wow im falling behind

I keep on doing this and its a problem. jeez forgetfullness is bad. It will be nice when this finally becomes a habit and i don't have to keep forgetting. Well today was very uneventful. I had the best monday ive had in a long time. I did abslotuley nothing. By absolutley nothing i mean i watched a movie in enviromental Science. I watched a MTV tv show in Jornalism 2 and i watched Jones Town in Sociology. Why can't i do this till the end of the year. please god grant me a movie every day till graduation. So that was today movies, movies, movies. No call from the Pool Monitor Thing but if i said i don't here fro mthem by friday ill go down to Pizetta and talk to Chris the owner.

Yesterday was preety much how my weekends are going to be spent until college. i will have 2-3 lessons a day and a sick farmers tan. Well actully on sunday i only had one lesson at 9 in the morining and staying up till midnight the night before was not a good idea. Headache much?! then at 1 a woman came to look at Z but couldn't decide if she wants a horse for her or for her family and a rescue horse and a family horse are two completly diffrent personalities. Then after that i went over to a friends house to watch Blazing saddles. and i swear in the last scene where ther riding the horses down the rode to the car which drives off into the distance the palimino that the sherrif rides is doing a running walk.

All that Jazz 4/25/09

Sorry i didn't write one yeaterday. when i had the chance to sit down at a computer nothing had reallyhappened that day to that time. So ill start with a summary of yesterday. I had school nothing to exciting happened we begain deviance in Sociology and started wathcing the documentary jamestown where all these people die by drinking the cool- ade so thts where the phrase came from " Don't drink the cool- sade." if your wondering. Als oi had jornalism which i thought was funny despite my terrible game of spit which i can't seem to win i wrot to fabulos articles one was an editroial and got a compliment from frayne when she was freaking out at are class. so that was good. After that i had unnasigned and came home and watched Chicago with Vikky sicne she has never seen it before.

Then after Chicago i had a slight break where i chilled and did some work. at 4:30 Vikky came back over with the girl she babysits to see the horses. After that we drove down to Dunkin Donughts and go large Ice Coffees and then onto Talent show rehersal at school.

Ah, talent show rehersal what fun that was. First off the janitors where eating dinner so they couldn't unlock the windows in the booth until 7. Once we got that done the extension cord for the sound board was taken out of the school and vikky got very mad a frask who took the cord home with him. The only thing is that its not even school property its GPS 19 property(the local TV station) But despite the drama with that the rehersal went fine.

So today i had my 9' oclock lesson cancelled because the girl who i was giving it to has the flu. SO i rode Z with star on the trail and down to the road to see hwo she was with cars. She was so calm compared to last time. She was also fine around the cars which is what i suspected becasue she most likly was a cart horse for the amish and was very road savvy.

Then after that i layed out for a hour even though it didn't make a diffrence. i don't tan very easily but i am so white i am blinding people with my whiteness so i figured i should darken up a little. not to the extent like in this photo but jsut so im not blinding people. So now i am here Writing this blog waiting for 4 to come around so i can go over to vikkys before dress rehersal tonight and the talent show.

Why i love Thursdays

Thursday is the best day of the week. One, because Smallville is on Thursdays. Two, its the day before Friday which is the day before the weekend. So today i had a job interview for pool monitor at a apartment complex in Norwich. It was really creepy because i had to drive past the old Hospital and the Apartment Complex is right next to the hospital. Like you take the turn in the road and your at the apartments. So when i pulled into the drive i got lost and once i did find i felt like i was driving through San Fransisco it was so hilly. I filled out this massive application and then got interviewed for less than 5 minutes. But whatever if i get the job ill be happy.

After getting back from Norwich i went out and rode Esperanza(Z) who is an angel on the ground and in the ring but the moment we set foot out onto the trails. what a different horse. at the beginning she was just doing a fast walk which was fine i could control it and half halt her but the moment we got half way through the trail she flipped out. I have now diagnosed her with Separation Anxiety from star her "boyfriend" At least i can sit a bucking and cow kicking horse. she also did these things were she would paw and almost drop to her knee to paw the ground. it was weird but i won't go into to much detail about what she did and how i fixed it since most the people who read this have know idea what i am saying!

Well now i just have to write out some Journalism articles and pray i get this job!

Ugh

So today will be named the most miserable day of the week. Ugh fog, rain, rain oh and more rain. See i could survive in England and/ or Ireland! But to add to the misery my senoritis decided to kick in today so i didn't do shit and began to feel like shit. And all my teachers thought something was wrong with me. Then because of feeling crappy i got some McE D's and had some chocolate almond Ice Cream which i am now regreting. I only had 7 bucks on me so i went all out on the dollar menu getting a

McDouble

4 Piece Chicken Nuggets w/ Barbeque Sauce

and a Small Fries

And then i had a few scoops of Blue Bunny Toasted Almond Fudge Ice Cream. And when i say a few scoops i mean enough to fill a coffee cup. Thats one of my strange things i do is eat Ice Creamout of a coffee mug. But the Ice Cream was kinda gross. It was really watery and the chocolate was almost bitter tasting. Not a fan of this Ice Cream.

But despite my Food problems Talent Show Rehersal was cancelled which i think is stupid becasue the more practice the better. Theses people are only practicing 3 times before the show. 2 as a whole runthrough. I think it will be fiasco and then everyone comes to bitching to us in Tech but hell we only do this shit as volunters and i don't think people relize how screwed they would be if the tech had enough and just left. Oh well at least im second in comand and don't have to be bitched at becasue im typically the type of person who will scream right back at the person.

So todays blog was completly pointless and but tommorow i have my job interview and oh i set up my appoinment for my Prom Updo. hopefullyit won't turn out like shit! im going to go lay down now.

headache and 38 days till schools out.

sorry i did not get a blog done yesterday. I had class then hung out with some friends and awatched tristan and Isodle. If you are a midevil/ 1800's movie fan watch that movie it was amazinglly powerfull. i also am terrible at predicting movies i discovered. How was i suppose to no he would float to Ireland that is so out of stereotypicall old style love movies!

Oh and if you have seen the Spiderman movies you no who james franco is. Now picture him shirtless with that quircky smile!!! very cute.
Now back to tthe reason i didn't get a blog in last night was because i did my typical horse chores as usual then i cam home got mabye an hours rest, did some homework, then left for Fashion and Talent Show Rehersal.
Fashion and Talent Show, now where do i begin....Well it wasn't as bad as Mr. Falcon Rehersal but people can be so irritating sometimes. So i now i will prepare with 50cent ice coffee and alleve.
Gennerally rehersal runs till 9ish so im to tired when i return to a blog. So thats whats happening this week on thursday i have an interview in Norwich for a Pool Monitor position for the summer. at least ill get a nice tan(if i get the job) that means wash my hair, wear my awsome J.Crew 3-quarters blouse( it makes my eyes pop becasue i have blue eyes) and smile and talk clearly.
I think i will get it because i have so much experience in swimming that a female buser/ security officer won't be a huge problem. Till tommorow then.

Long time no see

so i havn't done thsi in a really long time. I also will probably do Vlogs that i will post on here as well. but for now. The reason i decided to do this and now on a regular basis is because of craigslist. There was a job ad posted that said if you wrote 3 blogs a day they would pay you for it. Well plus the fact that i love to write and i have a lot to say i thought i could start doing this on a daily or weekly basis. Also thsi is good practice for college since im going to school in North Carolina nobody will be able to no what i am doing so they will be able to see through my blogs and through my Vlogs. So now that i gave a brief description.

I am currently a senior in High School with 42 days left (44 till graduation) so you can guess my senoritis is in overdrive right now. I currently have 3 important things to look forward to in these upcoming days. Number One is Holiday Hill. Holiday Hill is a park where the whole senior class goes for a day. My senior class is 300+ kids so we take up most of the park. But at holiday hill you basiclly get to eat as much junk food as you could posiblly want, go swimming, kyacking, and canoing. Its alot of fun so that will be fun. Second is Prom. Prom will be amazing i already have a dress and shoes i just need to make an appointment with the hair stylist. And thirdly, graduation. My school of 1400+ is such a over-dramatic clique hell hole. in lame mans terms of course. As a senior i have gooten to see the drama from an outsiders veiw and its so inmature and pointless. ive learned to stay away from it but still ITS SO ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait till summer becasue i will be going to college in the fall. I am attending. St. Andrews Presbytrian College in North Carolina(2 hours from Mrytle Beach!) St. Andrews has this huge equestrian facility that holds 107 horses. it has this huge covered arena i swear is 500X300 it is massive. and the facility sits on 300 acres of flat pasture. The campus is also really cool and is set on these two large ponds.
check my video of St. Andrews that i made.

i also have tons of photos but most of them are in the video. So i am going to try and do this plus a daily blog so don't miss out. i think ill do a Vlog on my day today.

St. Andrews Presbytrian College/ Washington D.C

Yestarday was the day i visited At. Andrews Presbytrian College(SAPC) it was your typical southern campus large green lawns oak groves and man- made lakes! there student population is 700+ and there equine program alone has 200 students. i was very impressed by there 300 acre barn and facilities. They currently hold 105 horses and are very hands on which is what i need. i will go into detail more in another blog or when i make my descion.

i also visited the Sully Air and Space museum outside the beltway which was pretty cool. right when you walk in there is a blackhawk stealth plane in front of you. also there are large helicopters B2's, air france planes, oh and a space oddessy space craft as well. Those are soem of the planes i remeber. there are plenty more but i can't remeber all of the. Oh and a Boeing 775 with its bomb deploment hatch open.

THen we went to the sully house and walked the grounds which where pretty cool.

Newspaper says car thief transformed into a goat

The Vanguard, one of the largest newspapers in Nigeria, reported that police implicated a goat in an attempted automobile theft. The article appeared on the front page.
Two men tried to steal a Mazda car in Kwara State, with one suspect transforming himself into a goat as vigilantes cornered him.
The paper quoted police spokesman Tunde Mohammed as saying that while one suspect escaped, the other transformed into a goat as he was about to be apprehended.
The newspaper reported that police paraded the goat before journalists, and published a picture of the animal.
Police in the state couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Belief in black magic is widespread in Nigeria, particularly in far-flung rural areas.
